URANUS PLANET OF REBELLION TURNS RETRO:GRADE

Uranus, the planet of rebellion, turns retrograde on July 1.

Uranus is the oddball of the solar system. For starters, it rolls along its side -- on its equator -- instead of spinning upright in its orbit the way planets typically do. Uranus is also in retrograde for more than half of the year. This means it is only direct for two weeks, and is retrograde for about five months out of every Earth year.

Astrologically, Uranus liberates you from the shackles of convention and applies pressure to change whatever is stagnant in your life. Uranus rules electromagnetic energy and is like a lightning storm that creates chaos as it cleans the air, revealing a fresh new world once the storm has cleared.

But when Uranus is retrograde, expect the unexpected. Wonderful and startling surprises are very possible. This retrograde may set your wild side free, or it could make a notoriously outgoing person uncharacteristically shy.

To know exactly what to expect, review the placement of Uranus in your birth chart. If Uranus is direct in a chart, intuitive and inventive impulses flow on a regular basis. However, when Uranus is retrograde in a birth chart, rebellious urges tend to bottle up and then burst forth, seemingly out of nowhere.

A retrograde period seems to re-awaken freedom urges within individuals, causing them to suddenly and unconsciously rebel against any ruts or confinement in life. Is Uranus retrograde in your birth chart? Should you be on guard against your own rebellious tendencies in the following months to come?

BILLY MAYS: SUDDEN DEATH AT 50

OMG! Billy Mays has died suddenly! We knew Billy from our many years of doing public shows with him as an exhibitor. Bill was a really quiet, nice and organized exhibitor. He was the kind of pitchman that came to life when the light came on. Our prayers and thoughts are with his wife and family. RIP BILL

My friends Bobb and Karin Schmitz of Easy Way Products had this to say about Billy's death:

Bobb and Karin:

Yesterday Billy got home to Tampa from shooting a commercial in Philadelphia. There was a blow out on one of the plane's tires during the landing. Something fell down and hit Billy on the head. It was a very rough landing. Billy was interviewed by a Tampa TV station and he told them he was hit on the head but that he had a hard head.

This may be something similar to what happened to Natasha Richardson.

Thanks guys!

TAMPA, Fla.
– Tampa police say Billy Mays, the television pitchman known for his boisterous hawking of products such as Orange Glo and OxiClean, has died. He was 50.

Authorities say Mays was pronounced dead Sunday morning after being found by his wife at home. There were no signs of a break-in, and investigators do not suspect foul play. The coroner's office expects to have an autopsy done by Monday afternoon.

Mays' wife, Deborah Mays, says the family doesn't expect to make any public statements and asked for privacy.

Mays was also featured on the reality TV show "Pitchmen" on the Discovery Channel, which followed Mays and Anthony Sullivan in their marketing jobs.

SAY IT ISN'T SO.. MICHAEL JACKSON DEAD AT 50

See People Covers of Michael

Lynn Elber, Associated Press Writer – 19 mins ago

LOS ANGELES – Michael Jackson, the sensationally gifted child star who rose to become the "King of Pop" and the biggest celebrity in the world only to fall from his throne in a freakish series of scandals, died Thursday. He was 50. Jackson died at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Ed Winter, the assistant chief coroner for Los Angeles County, confirmed his office had been notified of the death and would handle the investigation.

The circumstances of Jackson's death were not immediately clear. Jackson was not breathing when Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a call at his Los Angeles home about 12:30 p.m., Capt. Steve Ruda told the Los Angeles Times. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda told the newspaper.

Jackson's death brought a tragic end to a long, bizarre, sometimes farcical decline from his peak in the 1980s, when he was popular music's premier all-around performer, a uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on MTV, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to Jackson's residence at 12:26 p.m. P.T., according to the Los Angeles Times. Paramedics performed CPR on Jackson, who was not breathing when they arrived at his home. He was rushed to LA Medical Center, just six miles from his home.

"For a long time he was unquestionably the most famous person on the planet," Jed Hilly, the executive director of the Americana Music Assocation, told ABCNews.com.

GOOD BYE FARRAH...

Sad news today that Farrah Fawcett lost her long term battle and the cancer took her life. Poor Farrah she had such a rough time in the past twenty years. For all the fabulous looks, money, gorgeous homes and talent she was cursed with abusive men.

Somewhere her self esteem must have been damaged. We know that she is finally free of this earth and at peace at last.

We will miss her...

From Yahoo:

"She was an angel on Earth and now an angel forever." — Lee Majors, ex-husband.

"There are no words to express the deep sense of loss that I feel. For 30 years Farrah was much more than a friend, she was my sister, and although I will miss her terribly I know in my heart that she will always be there as that angel on the shoulder of everyone who loved her." — Alana Stewart, close friend.

"Farrah had courage, she had strength and she had faith. And now she has peace as she rests with the real angels." — Jacyln Smith, co-star in "Charlie's Angels."

"Farrah had an outstanding talent, better than most feature film actresses that I've seen. She was great to work with and will be missed." — Robert Duvall, director and co-star in "The Apostle."

"I'm terribly sad about Farrah's passing. She was incredibly brave and God will be welcoming her with open arms." — Cheryl Ladd, co-star in "Charlie's Angels."

"I will miss Farrah everyday. She was a selfless person who loved her family and friends with all her heart, and what a big heart it was. Farrah showed immense courage and grace throughout her illness and was an inspiration to those around her. When I think of Farrah I will remember her kindness, her cutting dry wit and, of course, her beautiful smile. Today, when you think of Farrah, remember her smiling because that is exactly how she wanted to be remembered: smiling." — Kate Jackson, co-star in "Charlie's Angels."

"I remember when we had dinner and she said, `I'm going in to meet with Aaron Spelling on some new TV series about three girls who are detectives.' And the next day she told me, `Kate Jackson and I are going to be two of them, and they're looking for the third. I set up an appointment for you.' That's the way she was: generous with her friends." — Susie Coelho, TV personality, businesswoman and longtime friend.

"Farrah was one of the iconic beauties of our time. Her girl-next-door charm combined with stunning looks made her a star on film, TV and the printed page. I was saddened to learn of her passing earlier today and my thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends." — Hugh Hefner, Playboy magazine founder.

Johnny Rivers

Some of my personal favorites are The Who in 1970, Buffalo Springfield (love the Nehru jacket) Johnny Rivers, taken last year, and Jeff Beck taken back in the retro days...

Jeff Beck

Sigh... Jeff Beck was so awesome to see live. Luckily I did seem him in the very early 70's. The tickets were a birthday present from my friends.

Buffalo Springfield

RK asked Ms. Harris who her favorite artist was to shoot and she replied:

The only time I've been interviewed in the last two decades someone also asked me who my favorite artist to shoot was. My answer then and now:

Iggy. He is as comfortable and planned in making shapes for the camera as a high fashion model, live or studio.

From Heather's Website:

Heather Harris' photographs of musicians have been published in Rolling Stone, MOJO, Billboard, the Los Angeles Times, Hits, Creem, Music Connection and countless others. Spanning the Buffalo Springfield to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, her work includes many of the most important figures in rock that came through her native Los Angeles throughout the past four decades.

Author of the books "Punk Rock 'n' Roll," and "Bob Marley - Rastaman Vibration," (both of Almo Publications), she is readying a photojournalistic collection of her music photography and overview of Los Angeles' unique local music scene, "Fast Film." THE EVOLUTION OF SNARKY WOMEN

EXPOSED! NightJack Blogger Richard Horton

Thousands of bloggers who operate behind the cloak of anonymity have no right to keep their identities secret, the High Court ruled yesterday.

In a landmark decision, Mr Justice Eady refused to grant an order to protect the anonymity of a police officer who is the author of the NightJack blog. The officer, Richard Horton, 45, a detective constable with Lancashire Constabulary, had sought an injunction to stop The Times from revealing his name.

In April Mr Horton was awarded the Orwell Prize for political writing, but the judges were unaware that he was using information about cases, some involving sex offences against children, that could be traced back to genuine prosecutions.

His blog, which gave a behind-the-scenes insight into frontline policing, included strong views on social and political issues.

The officer also criticized and ridiculed “a number of senior politicians” and advised members of the public under police investigation to “complain about every officer . . . show no respect to the legal system or anybody working in it”.

Some of the blog’s best-read sections, which on occasion attracted half a million readers a week, were anecdotes about cases on which Mr Horton had worked. The people and places were made anonymous and details changed, but they could still be traced back to real prosecutions.

In the first case dealing with the privacy of internet bloggers, the judge ruled that Mr Horton had no “reasonable expectation” to anonymity because “blogging is essentially a public rather than a private activity”.

The judge also said that even if the blogger could have claimed he had a right to anonymity, the judge would have ruled against him on public interest grounds.

SEASON 2 BETTER THAN 1: TRUE BLOOD

Season 2 looks like an improvement over the first one.

By ROBERT LLOYD, Television Critic
June 13, 2009

HBO's vampire dramedy “ True Blood” returns Sunday night for a second season of gore and guts and breasts and buttocks. The action may take place in the South, but the show itself is truly set in a place called Premium Cable.

Creator Alan Ball ("Six Feet Under") continues his more or less faithful, though highly elaborated and extended, adaptations of Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novelsCharlaine Harris’, which tell the story of a telepathic waitress, her undead beau and various other libidinous friends and monsters in the Louisiana swamp town of Bon Temps. (Cajun French for "Sunnydale," in a way.) The special conceit here, which is a good one, is that the recent invention of synthetic blood -- marketed as a kind of nonalcoholic beer for the blood-addicted, in one of the many metaphors that flit around this tale -- has allowed vampires to "come out of the coffin" and join mainstream society.

Just as the first season covered the territory of the first Sookie book, "Dead by Dark," the second follows the lines of its sequel, "Living Dead in Dallas," though with even more additions and alterations. Whereas Harris' novels are all written from Sookie's point of view, the series spreads its attention among several characters, and the material has been twisted and inflated to feature them. There are a lot of characters, and they need things to do.

CHASTITY BONO SEX CHANGE

Cher's Daughter Chastity Announces Plan to Become a Man

Chastity Bono, daughter of Cher and the late Sonny Bono, is undergoing gender reassignment surgery, his publicist confirmed to ABCNews.com.

The daughter of TV celebrities Sonny and Cher is going to become a man.

Yes, it's true -- Chaz, after many years of consideration, has made the courageous decision to honor his true identity," Howard Bragman said. "He is proud of his decision and grateful for the support and respect that has already been shown by his loved ones. It is Chaz's hope that his choice to transition will open the hearts and minds of the public regarding this issue, just as his 'coming out' did nearly 20 years ago

We feel nothing but sympathy for Chastity. Try as we might, we cannot find one snarky thing to say about her story. We have noticed over the decades the sadness and pain in Chaz's eyes. Recently she/he has looked more and more calm and relaxed in her world.

We cannot begin to imagine the childhood and teenage life Chaz must have endured. Though we adore Cher tremendously, she is CHER....

Chaz could never have lived up to that image and it must have been so painful for her.

We wish her the best in her new gender and hope it brings her the enjoyment of being who she is meant to be.

Godspeed Chaz darling!

THE SNARKY VIEW NEWS: DAVID CARRADINE

Expert Rules Out Carradine Suicide

(AP) The forensics expert hired by David Carradine's family has concluded that the "Kung Fu" actor did not commit suicide, but said that more information was needed from Thai investigators before the cause of death could be determined.

Carradine's brothers, Keith and Robert Carradine, each read part of a prepared statement to reporters from The Associated Press at a Los Angeles hotel Thursday morning. In their first appearance since their older brother was found hanging in a Bangkok hotel room closet last week, they thanked supporters and asked for privacy.

We have had serious doubts about David's suicide. We believe he may have been involved in some freakish acts and died accidently or perhaps a homocide but not suicide. Our first question about this scene was:

Why would he wait so long to do it at age 72?

Why did he fly all the way to Bangkok to do it?

Actors don't usually begin filming and then ace themselves. Doubt filled for sure. RIP DAVID

YOU'RE FIRED MISS CALIFORNIA

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND..... Miss Thing can always move to Florida and do Orange Juice Commercials.

LOS ANGELES – Miss California USA Carrie Prejean, who stirred up a hornet's nest of controversy when she said gays shouldn't be allowed to marry, got the word from pageant poobah Donald Trump on Wednesday: "You're fired."

Trump and other pageant leaders said Prejean was being sacked not because of her controversial remarks but because she hadn't been holding up her end of the agreement she signed when she entered the pageant.

"This was a decision based solely on contract violations, including Ms. Prejean's unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization," the California pageant's executive director, Keith Lewis, said in a statement.

Lewis had complained at a news conference last month that Prejean was skipping Miss California USA events while speaking out against gay marriage at unsanctioned appearances.

After the complaints reached Trump, who owns Miss California USA's parent organization, the mogul decided to give her a second chance and keep her on. On Wednesday he changed his mind and sided with Lewis.

"I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California USA Organization and I gave her the opportunity to do so," Trump said in a statement. "Unfortunately it just doesn't look like it is going to happen."

Prejean spokeswoman Melany Ethridge declined to comment, saying she hadn't been able to reach the former beauty queen since the announcement of her ouster.

Prejean told the television show Access Hollywood she would never have been let go from the pageant had she not replied the way she did to a judge's question about gay marriage.

"It's just because of my answer, I think," Prejean said Wednesday shortly after learning of Trump's decision. "None of this would be happening right now if I just said, 'Yeah, gays should get married.'"

She also denied being derelict in her post-pageant duties.

"I've tried to reach out to them and I've done several appearances and I'm going to be presenting at the Special Olympics this weekend as an honorary guest," Prejean told the TV show. "I mean, I've been cooperating with them. I don't see why this is happening."

Pageant officials said Prejean would be replaced by the Miss California pageant's first runner-up, Miss Malibu Tami Farrell. They had announced last month that Farrell was being named a special ambassador to fill in for Prejean at any events she didn't attend.

"Carrie is a beautiful young woman and I wish her well as she pursues her other interests," Trump said.

Prejean, 22, was competing in the Miss USA competition, where she was first runner-up, when she answered gossip blogger Perez Hilton's question about gay marriage by saying wedding vows should be reserved for men and women.

"No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised," she said.

After the response made her a lightning rod for the gay-rights debate she began speaking to crowds opposed to gay marriage, violating a section of her contract that required she clear unsanctioned appearances with pageant officials. About the same time, seminude photos of her began to surface on the Internet.

Although the photos were mild, pageant officials said she also violated her contract by not disclosing their existence to them.

When Trump initially decided to keep Prejean on, Lewis' co-executive director, former Miss USA Shanna Moakler resigned in protest.

"My faith has been restored in the Miss Universe Organization and with Donald Trump," Moakler said in a statement after Wednesday's announcement. She didn't say whether she planned to return to the organization.
